Our Professional Leadership and Learning Communities (PLLCs) are regional communities available exclusively to multi-academy trusts (MATs) within our partnership. They provide colleagues with the opportunity to learn collaboratively and advance their leadership skills and strategic thinking.
We believe that strong, sustainable multi-academy trusts are built through strong, connected leadership. That’s why we’ve created professional learning communities, where leaders from across different trusts come together to share challenges, strategies, and successes. With many trusts facing similar strategic priorities, these regional communities offer a powerful space for collaboration, reflection, and growth — enabling leaders to learn from one another and strengthen their impact across the system.
We facilitate 16 professional learning communities, each bringing together leaders who share the same or similar roles across different MATs. These communities are organised into key functional areas typically found within a MAT — such as education and operations — and meet three times per year. Each department also comes together for an annual end-of-year conference, providing a focused opportunity for deeper collaboration and shared learning.

At each session, participants shape the focus based on their strategic needs and current challenges. They hear from expert speakers — both from the education sector and beyond — and connect with others in similar roles to share insight, practice and solutions.
Through every community, colleagues have the opportunity to deepen their understanding of effective school improvement strategies, take part in peer challenge, and contribute to the development of policy and practice across trusts. Leaders are encouraged to visit other schools and multi-academy trusts to explore approaches in action, building close working partnerships and broadening their perspective.
Whether you’re looking to develop your leadership capabilities, test new ideas, or refine your strategic approach, our professional learning communities are built to support your growth and impact.
