Inspiring Leaders are committed to supporting the School-Led Self-Improvement system. Our MAT partners are the leading edge of system design and are active System Leaders recognised for their work in the Education sector.
In 2012, when the Self-improving School-Led system was in its infancy the Trustees of Inspiring Leaders found themselves in new territory. They were being challenged by the Department for Education and National College for School Leadership to improve the lives of children beyond their school by becoming Teaching Schools and eventually Academy Trusts. As ‘System Leaders’ our Trustees were tasked with challenging the status-quo, to innovate and see how things could be done differently with a strong morale purpose of improving the life chances of all children.
We established four Teaching School Alliances working with over 300 schools in the region which led us onto creating our own Initial Teacher Training Partnership (SCITT) and a wide range of wider DFE Designations. In addition to this our founding NLEs and their MATs worked hard to create their own MATs and a broad School Improvement offer which has been effective in improving some of the most challenging schools in the region.
In 2021, two of our MATs became Teaching School Hubs, covering the Nottinghamshire and Nottingham City areas and working closely with the DFE on the new National Professional Development offer.
Our Trustees are active members of a range of national partnerships and forums including the Headteacher Board, Teaching School Hub Council, Headteacher Roundtables and reference groups. We work closely with a wide number of Associate NLEs and partner organisations who are actively supporting the system to develop.
Since 2012 Inspiring Leaders has trained over 4000 leaders, offered a range of support for the system, offered ITT for over 400 new teachers for the system and visited multiple nations of the world to see how we can learn from others.
We have been credited for our quality by Ofsted, Tribal and the DFE and whilst there is always improvements to be made the bond between our Trusts remains tight and there is a continued desire to work together, learn together and develop a system which works for our staff and children.
